Minx is a very well put together, balanced boerboel. We visited Marita (Gretchen Boerboel) while we were in South Africa in June of 2006. We were able to see the litter in person and assess their temperament. Her sire is Gretchen Bento and her dam is Gretchen Lara. I have a few photos of Lara below. Minx was about 5 weeks of age at the time of our visit. Our friends at Northern Boerboel in Canada imported Minx and her brother, where she spent the first year of her life. Minx is now with us and we look forward to seeing how she developes. She is a very active girl and jumps into the back of trucks/trailers anytime the gate is left down. She is not sound sensitive and after arriving here in April was able to settle in with our "pack" quickly. We took Minx to the May 2007 appraisal in St Louis and she did very well for a 12 month old. Her hips have been assessed by the Penn Hip method and are at the top 10% for the breed (her hips are better than 90% of all other boerboels that have been tested using this method so far, over 500 boerboels as of January 2007 - so she has hips tighter than 450 out of 500 dogs!).
