We are very pleased to announce that Sheriff's hip results are excellent. We took him in at one year of age to have his hips xrayed to check for hip dysplasia. His hips are better than 90% of all boerboels which have been assessed using penn hip and no signs of any joint disease. His official results are right hip 0.34 and left hip 0.45. The average for the breed was 0.64 at the time his hips were assessed.
Sheriff came to us from Mr Van Waveren (Ysterberg Boerboel) in the summer of 2002. We are very pleased with him, he is built like a tank and is afraid of nothing! He is very even tempered and appears to be laid back, but keeps his eye on everything. Sheriff was a very assertive pup, always diving in to play with the larger dogs and trying to be the "top dog". He has grown into a confident, well tempered adult and is one of the first to alert when strangers arrive. He is very protective of his family, but is also very accepting of visitors once he is assured everything is alright. Sheriff gets along well with all of our females and enjoys playing with puppies - he is very patient with the youngsters.
We had Sheriff appraised in March 2003 by the SABT at the age of 10 months and he received a score of 83.4%. Sheriff is about 26" tall and weighs 140 pounds.
