We sent Wymond to be a part of another kennel in the summer of 2006. He had been a wonderful companion, however, we felt we had used him as well as we could in our current program. Wymond was in a tragic accident in late spring of 2007. He will always be remembered fondly and is greatly missed by us. Wymond is the father of Oak View Tawny as well as many other wonderfully dispositioned boerboels in many families today. His pups are very athletic, have a high prey drive, enjoy obedience training and learn very quickly.
Wymond was born in January of 2002. He came to us from Mouzer Boerboel, the boerboel kennel of Stoffel & Lzt Bloem in South Africa. Mouzer boerboels are of the Ysterberg bloodline, one of the oldest lines of boerboel still being bred today. Wymond was a very easy going dog with a great temperament. Nothing bothered him. He didn't startle easily and loved to go for car rides and to run/hunt in the woods. He was a VERY energetic boerboel and ran circles around our other dogs (literally). I cannot say enough about this dog's temperament. As you can see in the photos, his tail and ears were almost always up. He was one of the happiest dogs I have ever met. Wymond was also a water dog (loved to fetch sticks out of the creek) and our hunter. His nose was always on the ground when we went for walks trying to track anything he could find.
We had Wymond's hips assessed using the Penn hip method and his hips were better than 70% of all boerboels tested by Penn Hip to date (October 2002). His DI was Left hip 0.55, Right hip 0.58 with no DJD. The median for the boerboel breed was 0.63 at this time.
Wymond stood at 27" tall and weighed about 135lbs.
Mouzer Wymond SABT 82.5%
His loss is felt greatly by us as we still considered him to be "our Wymond", he will always be remembered fondly.
